Flora Bowley - Inspiration

Every once in awhile I stumble over to some of my favourite artsist's blogs and see what they have been up to. This usually means I'm in desperate need of inspiration and these ladies always know how to help.

One post I keep coming back to this week is one on Teesha Moore's Blog.
The post features her work along with other students done during a workshop. Flora Bowley had stopped by Teesha's public studio (artfest annex) to demonstrate her art techniques.
Her work is very bright, visual and fluid.

This is Flora's piece from the workshop. - I love the drips and the combination of color!

I do want to try and experiment on a small canvas and create a piece from Flora's style. I rarely ever set out to make something for my place and this would be a beautiful one to do.

For more information on how the workshop went and to see how her students did, please click here.

New paintings and puppies

Life is extremely busy for me...but is that a shock? ;)
I wouldn't have it any other way.

Two fresh paintings will be settling in at Sticklings Cafe this afternoon. Patiently awaiting a home to bring happiness to their owner.

So much to do today!
Yesterday was my lazy day-in which I spent lounging around, watching family Channel.
The family channel always holds me prisoner.

I am determined to make up for lost time. Majour things on the list to accomplish today, including; cleaning the house, giving my puppy a hair cut, clean up studio, use studio to paint and lots of organizing!

On a random note....
I have been searching for the best cookie jar in the world. Have been unable to find one yet...I did however find these cute little guys.

A trip to the local thrift store may be in order if I finish everything in time.

Wonderful Idea

I was looking through housewares on Etsy and stumbled upon this little fella.

Idillard has a beautiful shop, her eye candy light switch plates would dress any room up.
This idea is wonderful, especially for drab apartments where you can't paint the walls.

Im inspired to make one myself.

Two Fresh Pieces

This weekend was a crazy one.
On Saturday morning I tried a new recipe (frittatas) which turned out to be amazing. Well recieved by the boy and I. My plans to make blueberry muffins didn't happen, I pushed myself into the studio instead. Which was a great idea for I finished two paintings I have been working on.

I always like having my pocket sized sketchbook with me..oh and of course one of their multi grain bagels.

Saturday Morning

Its a beautiful Saturday morning here, the sun is shinning and there is a slight breeze.
My weekend is here after another busy week of summer camps. A weekend Im quite excited for.

Many things to do today. Blueberry muffins will be on the list, maybe some sweet potatoe fries as well.
The recipe I tried a few weeks ago was great. They turned out full of flavour and moist. Many compliments were given. :)(I added more blueberries then needed tho;) )
I opted out of using the topping though, a tad too sweet.

ASOP's First Annual Art-A-Thon

Art School Of Peterborough Art-A-Thon

The first annual art-a-thon was a success! The school raised over six thousand dollars, all proceeds going towards a great cause.
I would like to personally thank everyone who has sponsored me for the event and your pieces will be arriving within the next two weeks.

After twelve hours of art it was quite difficult to sleep afterwards. A few hours later once I was awake, I wanted to get right back on that ceramics wheel and keep painting.
The energy, atmosphere, people creating, wonderful master pieces was ideal.
Take a look for yourself :)

Another attempt

There must be something that does not wish for me to post in a blog.
I had typed an entry and then Im not sure how, but it vanished. Literally my window vanished....

Using a blog is quite difficult. Im not a person who has a way with words. English isn't really my language...well I suppose it is...but my way of communicating has always been other ways.
Im a visual person. Either watching what others are saying from appearence/body language or by speaking through my art.

I now have an etsy page, one that I hope will motivate me to do...well more. :)

ETSY :)

I also found a pretty nifty craft site which Im sure will distract me for quite abit ;)Craft Gawker
